Sing, Unburied, Sing

This was an interesting read for me. It was very deep and moving, but honestly, overall, it's hard to describe. It covers discrimination, addiction, abuse, and tragedy. Each and every character struggles immensely with both internal and external conflicts that plague their lives. Some are able to find the light at the end of the tunnel, while others continue in a perpetual cycle. The writing is beautifully done, and the plot, with all its themes and symbolism, will make you think deeply.

Jesmyn Ward is a spectacular writer. Sing, Unburied, Sing includes so many literary elements, that it honestly started to feel like an assigned book I would get in college. There were soooo many things to dive into and attempt to try and uncover the true meaning of. If you are in the mood for a deep and thought provoking novel, put this one on your list!
