Nothing To Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea

This book was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It is amazing to see the power of human will when it is tested to its' complete maximum. Author Barbara Demick unearths the horrors North Korean citizens face in their daily lives. From hunger, oppression, and lies, this book details the lives of a few specific citizens in their quest for truth and freedom. Some dare to make the dangerous journey across the border, and others struggle to survive and help their diminishing community stay afloat. Demick exposes the brutal reality of life inside North Korea.
